Hotel “Volkhov” is located in the centre of a historical part of Novgorod the Great, in immediate proximity from the ancient Kremlin and the Sofia embankment. The hotel includes all the components for residing at time of a business trip or travel: up-to-date equipment, service and the best conditions for a rest. The closeness to the centre of a city business life and the convenient transport opportunities create comfortable conditions both for active work, and for a good rest after a busy day.
Hotel “Volkhov” is the oldest hotel in Novgorod. It was built to celebrate the 1100-year-old anniversary of the city. The four-storied hotel with wide marble ladders, spacious halls and high ceilings in a hardly built up afterwar city seemed magnificent. This is all the “Volkhov” Hotel that was always popular among visitors of Novgorod. However, it became really comfortable and attractive after it was joined to the Novtourinvest Hotel Group in 1997.
Full reconstruction of a building has transformed the hotel into a modern, comfortable hotel answering to the three-stars standards without changing an initial architectural plan, and keeping all positive features of Soviet construction.
Many outstanding figures, including politicians stayed in hotel “Volkhov” during its semicentenial history. More than that Stars of National Cinema and Stage were very pleased by the service of the Hotel. If we count only the participants of such film festivals as “Smilee, Russia!” and "Veche" we can see a huge number of Stars.
Interests of all visitors are considered in “Volkhov” Hotel at any time. We provide technically equipped conference hall for businessmen, travel agency and a souvenir bench in a hall of the second floor for tourists . For our clients – convenient rooms and a lobby-bar with the fresh press, a sauna with a small pool and a massage office. And, of course, restaurant is the major component of a hotel complex.
“Volkhov” Hotel is a landmark of our ancient city: with its rich history, high level of service, answering to all the high requirements of the modern world.
